It's Monday and it's the middle of November so of course we're dealing with a fresh weather warning, courtesy of the crack team at Met Éireann.
Granted, it is troublingly mild in general for this time of year – wonder what that's down to? – but we nonetheless must steel ourselves for some imminent difficult conditions.
Issued on Monday afternoon, a Status Yellow wind and rain warning has three counties in its sights – Kerry, Cork and Waterford.
According to Met Éireann, it will turn wet and windy in those areas this evening, with spells of heavy rain and possible spot flooding as a result. Strong south to southeast winds will bring gusts of between 70 and 100 kilometres per hour.
The warning is valid from 4pm on Monday and will stay in place until 11.30pm that same evening.

As for the overall weather outlook for the days ahead, Tuesday will see rain clear the northeast early in the morning, ushering in a mainly bright day. Occasional showers are expected, pushing in from the southwest – Connaught, Munster and south Leinster will be the most affected provinces.
Highest daytime temperatures of 9 to 13 degrees are anticipated, dropping to between 2 and 5 degrees on a mostly clear night.
Wednesday will follow a similar trend, with a mainly dry day peppered by sunny spells. Rain will emerge in Munster and Leinster in the afternoon. Highest temperatures of 7 to 10 degrees during the day, dropping to between 2 and 4 overnight.
Thursday and Friday, meanwhile, will also feature a combination of sunny spells and showers. As for early outlook for the weekend? Met Éireann says to expect "continued unsettled weather with showers or longer spells of rain and turning windy at times".
