Stoned sheep go on ‘psychotic rampage’ after eating dumped cannabis plants

Conor Heneghan

A village in Wales is on high alert due to the threat of sheep going on a ‘psychotic rampage’ after eating cannabis plants that been illegally dumped in the village.

According to The Telegraph, the remains of an illegal cannabis factory had been fly-tipped near the village of Rhydypandy in south Wales, with locals fearing that sheep had been inadvertently eating the cannabis plants.

County Councillor Iain Richard said that the sheep have already been causing havoc in the village and that there have been instances of them breaking into locals’ homes.

“There is already a flock of sheep roaming the village causing a nuisance,” Richard said.

“They are getting in people’s gardens and one even entered a bungalow and left a mess in the bedroom.”

“I dread to think what will happen if they eat what could well be cannabis plants,” he added.

“We could have an outbreak out of psychotic sheep rampaging through the village.”

A spokesman for the Swansea Council said that they had removed the cannabis plants at the earliest opportunity but that they couldn’t confirm whether or not the sheep had eaten the plants.

As well as the damage caused to homes of locals in the area, there were also reports of sheep being killed after straying onto the road in neighbouring villages.

The Council spokesman is quoted in the Telegraph as saying: “We made the police aware of this incident as soon as it was reported and arranged a site visit together.

“The fly-tipped waste has now been removed, but we’d urge anyone with information about who may be responsible to contact either ourselves or South Wales Police.”
