weather warning

Brace yourselves, Storm Diana is about to hit Ireland.

On Monday morning, Met Éireann issued a yellow status rain warning for thirteen counties.

Cork, Clare, Kerry, Limerick, Tipperary, Waterford, Dublin, Carlow, Kilkenny, Wexford, Wicklow, Galway and Mayo are the counties in question.

It kicks in from 2am on Tuesday morning, remaining in place until 2pm on Tuesday afternoon.

But it looks like this isn’t the only bit of bad weather that we’re about to experience.

A forecaster for the national meteorological service said that Storm Diana “could” hit the west of Ireland on Tuesday night.

They also stated that a warning may be issued at some point on Monday evening.

On Tuesday, 20-30mm is expected to fall over a short period, leading to some surface flooding. Higher totals are expected in mountainous areas.

So we advise that you wrap up and stay safe over the next couple of days.
