“Severe and damaging gusts” are expected.

Met Éireann has issued more Status Orange Weather warnings this week as storms continue to hit Irish shores.

Storm Franklin is set to arrive on Sunday (20 February).

A Status Orange Wind warning has been issued for Clare, Donegal, Sligo, and Leitrim.

The warning is in place for Clare from 12pm until midnight, and in place for other counties from 11pm until 7am Monday morning.

A Status Yellow Wind Warning is issued for the rest of the country from 12pm Sunday until 12pm Monday.

These winds combined with very high seas will lead to wave overtopping, which may result in coastal flooding.
