Subset have released a powerful statement regarding the removal of their artwork around Dublin.
A number of their pieces of art have been removed in the past number of years, including the iconic Stormzy mural and the Horseboy mural among many others.
The statement was intended for Newstalk, but it was not read out on air.
Throughout the statement, Subset make reference to the closure of the Bernard Shaw, as well as the removal of their artworks.
It reads:
“Look at the Bernard Shaw, a congregative – space for creativity condemned. The response to such brushed off as certain people just throwing their toys out of the pram over the closure of a pub.
“It is more than that. Boozers are plentiful in Éire, no panic there. It is about community, culture and respect. The same community that stayed here and weathered the storm after the country had been made shit of.”

The release of this statement comes days after it was announced that Subset were due to open a new exhibition on climate change in Dublin.
