Very sad news.
A girl in her teens has died following a single vehicle collision in Galway which occurred around 1.15am this morning (Sunday, 1 March).
It's understood the girl was fatally injured when the car she was a passenger in struck a wall in Porridgetown, Oughterard.
She was pronounced dead at the scene.
Her body has been removed to University Hospital Galway where a post mortem will take place.
The driver of the car, a 21-year-old man, was uninjured in the incident.
