Very sad news.
A girl in her teens has died following a single vehicle collision in Galway which occurred around 1.15am this morning (Sunday, 1 March).
It’s understood the girl was fatally injured when the car she was a passenger in struck a wall in Porridgetown, Oughterard.
She was pronounced dead at the scene.
Her body has been removed to University Hospital Galway where a post mortem will take place.
The driver of the car, a 21-year-old man, was uninjured in the incident.
Gardaí are appealing to any road users who may have travelled the road and can assist them or drivers who may have dash cam to contact them in Salthill Garda Station on 091 – 514720, the Garda Confidential Line 1800 666 111 or any Garda station.
