Teenager dies following road traffic collision in Kildare

Very sad news.

A teenager has died following a fatal road collision that took place in Kildare on Wednesday, 29 June.

The collision occurred at approximately 11.55am on Aghards Road in Cellbridge.

The pedestrian, a male in his teens, was taken to Connolly Hospital Blanchardstown following the incident, but later passed away as a result of his injuries.

As of 1 July 2022, 84 people have lost their lives on Irish roads so far this year.

Gardaí are appealing to any person who may have witnessed the collision to contact them.

They are particularly keen to speak with any road users who were travelling in the area with camera footage – including dash-cam – and ask that this footage be made available to investigating Gardaí.
