Wicklow crash

A male teenager has been arrested following the incident.

The death of 15-year-old girl in a crash in Wicklow on Sunday was reportedly the third heartbreaking tragedy suffered by her family.

Molly Dempsey was a passenger in the single-vehicle crash at Slaney Park, Baltinglass, Co. Wicklow on Sunday, May 5.

A male teenager was arrested on suspicion of offences under the Road Traffic Act following the incident and is being detained at a Garda station in Wicklow.

The Mirror report that Molly’s death followed her older brother Roy, who died in September 2007 aged 13 and another sibling, Killian, who died in 2016, aged 16.

Posting on social media, a friend wrote: “Molly, you have broken my heart in pieces. In your short life you have brought many laughs and smiles to people all around you. I know for sure you have always put a smile on my face and never failed to make me laugh with your goofiness and your great personality.

“You were the most loving, caring and kind-hearted person that I’ve ever come across and would always go above and beyond for anyone. You always had a cheeky smile on your face and a cheeky little smile at that.

“I hope your big brothers up there are looking after you and hope you are all looking over your friends and family during this hard time. Rest in peace my beautiful angel. We all love you and miss you so much.”
