Break out the BBQ, temperatures are going to be over 20 degrees this weekend

Long may the good times last.

History has taught us in Ireland that good spells of weather don’t come around often and when they do come around, they tend to be brief.

With that in mind, you should do your damnedest to make the most out of this weekend, when temperatures will soar as high as 21 degrees (that’s right, 21 degrees!) on Sunday.

The fine spell of weather we’ve been enjoying of late will continue throughout the weekend, apart from a brief period on Saturday night when there will be the possibility of patchy drizzle in places.

According to the Met Éireann forecast, Sunday will be “a fine and dry day everywhere” with highest temperatures ranging from 17 to 21 degrees.

The warmest weather will be experienced inland and there won’t be too much of a breeze either, so if there’s any day to break out the BBQ, then Sunday is the day for it.

In even better news, the fine, settled weather is set to continue until at least the middle of next week and though there’s a chance it will become less settled with showers towards the end of the week, it will remain mild and dry for the most part.

Might as well enjoy this while it lasts, folks.
