PIC: The White House has officially joined Snapchat and its snaps will be permanent

Colm Boohig

You and The White House can now exchange some fragile Sunday morning pictures.

First thing’s first; you can follow The White House on Snapchat by adding their username, “WhiteHouse”.

The President’s residence is joining the massively popular social media app in order to stay on-trend with various noteworthy professional and social groups, like celebrities and, most importantly, politicians.

And the really great news is that the majority of The White House’s content won’t delete after a number of seconds, unlike regular Snapchat photos and videos, due to Government regulations.

A White House spokesperson has been explaining to Mashable:

“With Snapchat as with other social accounts, we’ll be fully compliant with PRA requirements, saving and preserving snaps for archives.’

“Occasionally that content may find its way onto other platforms, but you shouldn’t expect all of the Snapchat content to live somewhere on our website.”

That means you can stare lovingly at the likes of this, em, fascinating picture; their maiden Snapchat.

Hopefully Obama and the boys will share more juicy snaps of the office in future, like the staff Christmas parties or the Tuesday night five-a-sides.
