There’s an Irish person in with a shot of becoming TIME’s Most Influential Person of 2016 and you can help

Carl Kinsella

What a statement this would be.

From the very beginning, Rory O’Neill and his alter-ego Panti Bliss were at the forefront of the Marriage Equality movement.

Bliss campaigned tirelessly, led rallies and after winning – she hosted some of the most intense and magnificent celebrations in her PantiBar on Capel Street.

She has become an icon for the LGBTQ rights movement and has travelled the world in the past year, performing her drag/comedy show and speaking up for the rights of gay people in countries where they are marginalised.

She is on the longlist for TIME Magazine’s most influential person of 2016. At present, she’s got 1.1% of the vote which doesn’t sound like much until you realise Bernie Sanders is in the lead with just over 4%.

You can help her out by going here and voting for her.
