The summer of 2016 as a whole hasn’t delivered amazing weather by any stretch of the imagination, but there have been a few scorchers and Tuesday, August 16 was one of them. Temperatures exceeded 20 degrees all over the country and according to Barra Best of the BBC, Claremorris in Mayo, Shannon in Clare and Finner in Donegal were the hottest places in Ireland today, with temperatures of 25 degrees. Castlederg in Tyrone and Magillgan in Derry, meanwhile, weren’t far behind. https://twitter.com/barrabest/status/765585871470993408 We’d like to say there will be more of the same on Wednesday, but the Met Éireann forecast suggests that the rain will start tonight and continue through tomorrow, when it will be muggy with temperatures as high as 20 degrees.
