They might have taken the horse to France: World’s Smallest Horse kidnapped

The world's smallest crime was committed in Italy over the weekend

JOE

The world’s smallest crime was committed in Italy over the weekend.

The news that the world’s smallest horse has been kidnapped will surely come as a blow to all of Charlie’s fans out there, but if you aren’t familiar with his works, here’s a video of the small stallion strutting his stuff:

The horse was taken in the Umbria region in Città di Castello, according to The Huffington Post, and police are already doing all they can to get him back.

We have a feeling that this might well be the mane news of the day over in Italy, as the cops suspect the Mafia could be involved somewhere along the line.

The plot to steal Charlie wasn’t well planned however, and may have been done on the hoof as it seems that the thieves simply cut a hole in the fence and brought him out through a surrounding tobacco field. There is, however, an expectation that the owners will be asked to pony up some dough for the tiny horse by the criminals at some stage.

Bartolo Messina, Charlie’s owner, noted that it was particularly easy to steal Charlie thanks to the fact that he is only about two feet tall, but this also made him particularly valuable for the criminals.
