Toddler in critical condition after falling from hotel balcony in Limerick

The incident occurred shortly before 1pm on Saturday.

A young child, believed to be three years old, is in a critical condition in Limerick University Hospital after falling from a balcony at the Strand Hotel in Limerick on Saturday afternoon.

Gardai and emergency services were called to the hotel on the Ennis Road in Limerick shortly before 1pm on Saturday after a young boy fell from a balcony on the sixth floor of the hotel.

According to Gardai, the child suffered serious injuries and received medical assistance at the scene, which is being preserved, before being brought to University of Limerick Hospital.

His condition is described as critical.
