Gardaí attended at the scene at approximately 7.45pm yesterday evening.

Two people, including a child, have died following a house fire in County Offaly.

An Garda Síochána are currently investigating all the circumstances surrounding the fatal fire which occurred at a domestic residence in Castleview Park, Edenderry, Co Offaly, yesterday evening, December 6.

A 60 year old woman and a young boy were fatally injured in the blaze, and a woman in her 50s is being treated for serious injuries at a hospital in the Midlands.

Gardaí in Tullamore are appealing for witnesses to come forward and anyone with information is asked to contact Tullamore Garda Station on 057 932 7600, the Garda Confidential Line 1800 666 111 or any Garda Station.

Investigations are ongoing.
