You’ll soon be able to stay in an underground hotel where some rooms are underwater

Would you stay in one of these rooms?

What do you look for when you know you’re going to be staying in a hotel?

A good breakfast? Wi-fi? A nice gym and a swimming pool?

They’re all fairly basic things to want in your accommodation.

But this new spot in Shanghai is taking your hotel experience to the next level.

Built into a quarry at the base of Tianmen Mountain, the InterContinental Shanghai Wonderland will be opening its doors later this month after 10 years of construction.

And it will be underground, with some of the rooms being underwater.

According to CNN, 16 of the 18 hotel’s floors are underground, and the rooms on the first two floors are completely submerged.

The underwater part of the hotel also includes a restaurant, a pool, and a watersports center.

It was initially meant to open in October, but the hotel is now set to open on December 1. According to the hotel’s website, rooms will become available for booking on 20 November.

Although we’d love to say that we’ll be adding this to our bucket list right away, rooms cost a minimum of $487 per night.

We’ll get saving…
