VIDEO: Bin lorry on fire on M50 is causing serious delays

A bin lorry has caught fire on the M50 northbound at Junction 13 and is causing serious delays to traffic. Gardaí and emergency services are attending the scene but while the right lane is open and allowing vehicles through, traffic is backed up as far as J15. Footage from the scene captured by David Kirby shows the lorry on fire, followed by an explosion and a plume of smoke rising from the scene. The explosion can be seen after the 40 second mark. https://youtu.be/eUi9am5Fg5A A Garda spokesperson has advised people to avoid the route if possible.
"We advise that motorists travelling northbound on the M50 exit at Junction 15 or 16 and rejoin the M50 at Junction 12 where possible."
