Chicago Police Department have released dashcam footage of a white police officer shooting and killing a black teenager in an incident last year. The release of the footage sparked protests on the streets of Chicago last night, with hundreds of people chanting “16 shots” during demonstrations that were said to be largely peaceful. Mayor of Chicago Rahm Emanuel has pleaded for calm in the Windy City, telling a news conference: "It is fine to be passionate, but it is essential to remain peaceful."
