All this is missing is the “Fu**ing hell” line from Father Ted.

Heated debate is likely to take place all over the country in the run-up to the general election, but we doubt you’ll see anything like the scenes that occurred in Kildare last night.

According to Kildare Now, Fine Gael TD Bernard Durkan, a Mayo native, attended a conference organised by the North Kildare Environmental Protection Group at the Hamlet Court Hotel in Johnstownbridge, where the prevention of the establishment of windfarms was on the agenda.

Durkan, who is believed to have been in favour of the establishment of windfarms in the county, is believed to have reacted angrily to claims from a member of the audience that Fine Gael had shares in windfarms.

It didn’t take long for tempers to flare and within a couple of minutes, Durkan was cheered as he exited the conference, with some audience members using some tasty language to bid him farewell as he left.
