Most of us dream of being retired by the time we hit our
mid-20s mid-60s, but 90-year-old Eugene O’Sullivan is still going strong down at the Kenmare Mart, Kerry.
Recently, Eugene’s family and friends decided to hold a surprise birthday party for the local legend at the Kenmare Mart, with the Irish Examiner heading along to record the event and managing to capture some incredible sound bites from the man himself.
According to
Tralee Today, “Eugie, has worked at Kenmare mart for the last 11 years, since he was 79 and he is currently the country’s oldest livestock employee…”
Some man. We just hope to have half as much energy as he does when we're 90 years old, never mind working in the mart and keeping young Irish whippersnappers in line.
