One mother’s brave call to fund a drug that will save hundreds of Irish lives.
Bernie Martin is the mother of a child with Cystic Fibrosis, who was alarmed to discover on Wednesday that the National Centre for Pharmacoeconomics (NCPE) had turned down the life-saving drug Orkambi.
The reason? It’s too expensive.
Bernie and her colleagues have set up the #YesOrkambi campaign to secure funding for this breakthrough treatment.
She writes: “We want to take the voices of the CF Community and amplify them. We want to give people the tools they need to fight. We want to make sure that our Government is not allowed to put a price on people’s lives.”
