A large crowd turned out in Dublin’s Merrion Square to watch a Robin Williams classic last night, and they paid tribute to the comedian in the best way possible.

The outporing of love for Robin Williams this week has been touching. From US TV hosts to street artists in Dublin, the high regard Williams was held in has become stunningly clear this week.

To pay their respects to him, Dublin’s pop-up cinema screening initiative Happenings put on Dead Poets Society in Dublin’s Merrion Square last night. The event, run in association with suicide prevention charity Pieta House, proved to be hugely popular, raising vital funds for a very worthy cause.

And, as the film drew to a close, the crowd paid tribute to Williams by taking their lead from the action on screen and standing to salute him.

Classy stuff Dublin, you’re making us very proud this morning.
