WATCH: Barack Obama tears into Donald trump, says he’s “unfit to serve as President”

No holding back here.

Barack Obama has said that Republic nominee Donald Trump is unfit to succeed him as President of the United States.

Trump and Hilary Clinton have officially been confirmed as the Republican and Democratic nominees for the Presidency of the United States and the current President left Americans in no doubt as to his feelings on the former.

Obama made the comments in a joint press conference with Singapore’s visiting Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong, saying that Trump was “woefully unprepared” to succeed him in the White House.

Obama also called into question Trump’s views on Europe, the Middle East and Asia and the “denunciation of his statements” by leading Republicans such as John McCain.

“What does this say about your party that this is your standard bearer,” Obama said.

“This isn’t a situation where you have an episodic gaffe, this is daily and weekly where they are distancing themselves from statements he’s making,” he added.

“There has to be a point in which you say this is not somebody I can support for president of the United States.”
