WATCH: Dublin residents chase rats with hurleys as estate becomes overrun with rodents

Residents of the estate in Clondalkin claim it has become overrun with rats in recent months.

Residents of a housing estate in Clondalkin can be seen chasing rats with hurleys in footage which appeared online over the weekend.

According to Echo.ie, residents of Grange View Place in Clondalkin say that the estate has become overrun with rats in recent months, with vermin being found in bins, gardens and even in the engines of their cars.

Residents told The Echo that the rat problem has being going on for months but has escalated in recent weeks.

They also told the paper that they live in daily fear of rats entering the homes and endangering the health and safety of their children.
