This is very heartwarming.
Actor and wrestler John Cena has made the dream of a teen fan of his, who was forced to escape Ukraine following its invasion by Russia, come true.
After their home in Mariupol was destroyed, Misha – a teenager with Down syndrome – and his mother Liana fled to Europe for safety.
To encourage her son to continue on the journey, Liana told Misha that they were on their way to find John Cena, who Misha adores.
Upon learning of this, Cena took the time to meet with Liana and Misha earlier this month outside of Amsterdam.
In a video of the encounter posted by WWE, Cena said: “When I read about Misha’s story, it reached out to me, not just Misha’s story but the story of Misha’s mom as well.
“Having three days off from work right at the time when I read this story and being an hour away by air, it turned immediately into we’re going.”
Misha and the wrestler spent an afternoon “building blocks and eating cake” during which the teen looked delighted.
“That’s a special afternoon when it comes to the new friends I was able to make,” Cena said.
