“They’ve come all the way from Ireland with me tonight to celebrate the election of America’s new president, Donald Trump.”
A number of high-profile representatives from the music and entertainment business declined to perform at the inauguration of Donald Trump on Friday, but Michael Flatley wasn’t one of them.
Reports that Flatley’s Lord of the Dance were to perform in Washington on Friday was the subject of much discussion in Ireland this week, most amusingly when it emerged that the owner of the website colossalbellend.com redirected its users to Michael Flatley’s website.
The show must go on, of course, and Flatley’s troops produced a rather impressive display on stage in Washington on Friday night and the crowd seemed to appreciate their efforts.
No doubt their stellar performance owed a lot to the motivational punch to the arm delivered by Flatley to two of the dancers on his way off the stage…
