Michael Owen’s Twitter account has been making for entertaining reading for once.
The grief that Michael Owen gets for his boring co-commentary on BT Sport is probably a little over the top at times, but that said, there’s no doubting that he’s not the most charismatic sporting personality in the public eye at the moment.
If there was any doubting said lack of charisma, then a quick browse through his Twitter account will quickly confirm it; apart from his frankly bizarre hatred of films, it’s boring enough to make one think that it might actually be a parody account like the boring Kearney or boring James Milner accounts that have become so popular of late.
Owen’s tweets did make for entertaining reading this morning, however, even if it was for all the wrong reasons as he regaled followers with the tale of his journey home from Los Angeles that ran into difficulties once his plane arrived into UK airspace.
Flying from Los Angeles to London and then up to Manchester. Due to fog at Heathrow, plane diverts straight to Manchester.

Been told I can't get off. Got to wait on plane for over an hour to then fly to Heathrow and miss my flight back up to Manchester. #Torture

Please BA, let me walk off the plane and into my Dads car. I want to pick my kids up from school and don't need to go to Heathrow and back.

“@Badgerous1: @themichaelowen Rules are rules, Michael.”
I know and I abide by them 100%. Doesn't mean I can't be annoyed.

In fairness to Owen, his frustration is hugely understandable and anyone who’s been through a similar experience will be able to empathise with his plight, but they’re probably the most entertaining series of tweets to ever come from his account and we’d be lying if we said we didn’t raise a wry smile reading through them this morning.
Of all the responses, this was definitely our favourite…
@themichaelowen Please BA leave him on the plane forever!

Getting a kick out of someone’s else’s misfortune? That’s right; we’re horrible, horrible people.
