The warning is in place for Friday.

If you have any plans that involve the great outdoors this Friday, we recommend either delaying them or buying a sturdy jacket.

Met Éireann have issued a status yellow weather warning for six counties in Ireland.

It looks as though the west of the country will be the worst affected, with Donegal, Galway, Mayo, Sligo, Clare and Kerry being the six counties listed in the warning.

The warning was issued at 1pm on Thursday and said that: “Southerly winds will reach mean speeds of 50 to 65 km/h, gust 90 to 100 km/h later Friday and Friday night in Atlantic coastal counties, strongest on the coast.”

It will be valid from Friday 2 November 3pm until Saturday 3 November 12pm.

This news comes on the same day that Met Éireann reported that temperatures were expected to drop below minus 4 degrees on Thursday night.

In other words, it’s going to be absolutely freezing tonight.
