Another status yellow warning, meanwhile, valid from 6pm on Wednesday to 12pm on Saturday, has been issued for the entire country, warning of very cold wintry weather from Wednesday night onwards.
Met Éireann say that heaviest of the snow fall is most likely over Ulster, Connacht, north Leinster and west Munster and especially so on high ground, so there’s barely any pocket of the country that will escape unaffected.
