Weather warning

The warning kicks in over the next few days.

The Met Office have issued a weather warning for six counties for this Friday.

Kicking off at 9am and holding strong until 9pm, the yellow weather warning means that there is some heavy rain and strong winds expected on that day.

They have also warned that there may be some delays to road, rail, air and ferry transport, as well as spray and flooding on roads. These conditions are expected to make journey times longer.

The warning is for all of Derry, Antrim, Down, Armagh, Fermanagh, and Tyrone, as well as parts of Donegal, Leitrim, Sligo, Monaghan, Cavan, Leitrim, and Louth.

Meanwhile, Met Éireann have said the rest of the country should expect a windy day with rain becoming widespread and heavy during the morning and clearing to scattered showers by evening.

South to southeast winds will be very strong and gusty. Winds will back southwest with the clearance and decrease moderate to fresh, and top temperatures to be from 8 to 11 degrees.
