Batten down the hatches
The wild weather of the last few days shows no sign of easing anytime soon with Met Eireann issuing a Status Orange weather warning for coastal counties in the west and north of the country today.
The warning, issued this afternoon and in effect until 9am tomorrow morning, comes ahead of forecasts of winds of up to 120 km/h in exposed coastal areas tonight with severe winds of 70 km/h plus prevailing throughout the rest of the country.
The forecast for tomorrow ain’t great either, with scattered showers expected throughout the country after bright spells in the morning.
Temperatures are expected to drop throughout the day before falling below freezing on Monday night, with snowfall a possibility in places as cool conditions continue on Tuesday.
Lovely.
