Woman in her 90s dies following road crash in Clare

Tragic news.

A woman in her 90s has died following a road crash in Clare on Tuesday (7 December).

The fatal single-car road traffic collision occurred at Annagh in Miltown Malbay at around 12.30am.

The woman was the driver and sole occupant of the car and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Her body has since been removed to Limerick University Hospital, where a post-mortem examination will be conducted at a later date.

The road is currently closed to allow for an examination to be carried out by Forensic Collision Investigators, with local diversions in place.

Gardaí are now appealing for any witnesses to the crash to come forward.

They are particularly urging any road users who were travelling on this road at the time with camera footage to make this available to them.
