The incident occurred on Sunday afternoon.
A woman has been seriously injured following a collision on the N20 Cork-Limerick road outside of Mallow.
Gardaí told JOE that the incident took place at approximately 3.30pm on Sunday afternoon, and that two people were injured in the two-car collision.
RTÉ has reported that fire brigade units from Mallow and Kanturk attended the scene, as well as Mallow gardaí and paramedics.
The injured woman was reportedly airlifted by the Community Air Ambulance to Cork University Hospital.
Traffic diversions are set to remain in place this evening.
