Five counties have been included in the two fresh warnings…
You may have encountered some pretty horrible weather on Monday morning. Here’s the bad news – the rest of the week doesn’t look all that much better. And now it’s time for some fresh weather warnings.
To wit; Met Éireann has unleashed another couple of formal warnings as the weather takes a turn for the grim.
Let’s break down the current state of play as of Monday afternoon, 21 November…
Warning #1
Issued on Monday afternoon, a Status Yellow rainfall warning is in place for three counties – Louth, Monaghan and Donegal.
According to the national forecaster, “heavy or thundery pulses of rain” will lead to localised flooding in the most-affected areas.
This warning is valid until 8pm on Monday evening.
Warning #2
A second Status Yellow warning has been issued, this time for Cork and Kerry.
In this instance, particularly strong west to northwest winds are anticipated for a time on Monday evening, with gusts in excess of 100 kilometres per hour forecast.
This warning is in place from 8pm on Monday and will expire at 4am on Tuesday morning.

Elsewhere on the overall weather front, Tuesday will bring scattered outbreaks of rain mostly across the north and northeast to start with, moving across the southwest as the day progresses.
Longer drier spells are also forecast, with some sunshine “getting through”. Highest temperatures of 7 to 11 degrees, dropping to between 3 and 6 degrees on an evening that will provoke heavy showers.
The general outlook for the week ahead is to prepare for regularly unsettled conditions – rain or showers are expected on “most days” so that’s nice – and for normal temperatures to be in the mix.
Wednesday will be a blustery affair, with sunny spells and scattered showers – hail and thunder may feature – especially closer to the Atlantic coast. Highest daytime temperatures of 7 to 10 degrees are expected.
Showers will persist across Atlantic counties in the evening, alongside lowest temperatures of 3 to 6 degrees.
