You might be able to get the Luas to Dublin Airport in the not so distant future

If you're flying out of Dublin Airport and don't have a car, it can be kind of tricky at times. The options left open to you are a taxi (expensive) and the bus (not overly reliable), that's why today's report in The Herald has excited us a little. Apparently a Luas line from Cabra to the airport, running through a tunnel underneath Glasnevin Cemetery, is the front-runner for a new transport option in north Dublin.
Transport Minister Paschal Donohoe has to put six proposals up for public consultation, and that specific Luas extension is the "most likely" option to go ahead.
The other favoured option is a combination of the Cabra Luas line and a Dart extension from Clongriffin to the airport.
The North Dublin Transport Study will be finished at the end of March and Minister Donohoe will reveal his office's official opinion then.
A tunnel under a cemetery is a bit freaky though, isn't it? Ah still, it'd be so handy. Fingers crossed.
