Gardaí have said that a male youth was arrested on Wednesday as part of the investigation into a serious assault on Alanna Quinn Idris in Ballyfermot in December.
The incident occurred near the civic offices on the Ballyfermot Road on the night of December 30th, with Alanna suffering a ruptured eyeball and fractures to her cheek and eye socket.
Alanna also suffered broken teeth and was left with a massive wound under her eye, needing to undergo surgery.
The young male is now being detained at a Garda Station in West Dublin under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984.
Alanna was treated at St James’s Hospital and the Dublin Eye & Ear Hospital and is now recovering at her home in Ballyfermot.
The boy she was with suffered stab wounds to his arm and has also since been discharged from hospital.
The pair were assaulted by a group as they got off a bus at around 9.30pm.
Gardaí have said that investigations are ongoing.
