As it stands, the US government has been in a state of shutdown for a total of 27 days, the longest federal government shutdown in American history.
Although we thought that the strangest story to emerge from the shutdown this week would be Donald Trump buying absolutely loads of
fast food for a college football team, we should have known better.
Hip hop sensation Cardi B has weighed in on the subject, in typical Cardi B fashion, and her take on the whole thing is absolutely sublime.
In an Instagram video posted on her page on Wednesday night, the New Yorker addressed the fact that
nearly 50,000 federal employees have been told to return to work without a pay cheque:
"Trump is now ordering federal government workers to go back to work without getting paid.
"Now I don't wanna hear y'all motherfuckers talking about, 'Oh, but Obama shut down the government for 17 days'. Yeah, bitch. For healthcare.
"So your grandma go check her blood pressure, and you bitches could go check your pussy in the gynocologist with no motherfucking problem.
