The Munster talisman had what can only be described as a rush of blood to the head tonight, and booted Leinster’s Dave Kearney.
As always, the meeting of Munster and Leinster in Thomond Park tonight was as enthralling as ever. As it stands, the visitors are just shading it but this incident is the one the game will be remembered for.
A ball broke loose and as Leinster’s Dave Kearney tried to retrieve it, Munster Paul O’Connell decided to put boot to ball. Unfortunately, Kearney’s head was between the boot and the ball.
There was no sanction administered during the game but we wonder will the citing commissioner have a word, even if it was accidental.
