Alexis, Walcott, Oxlade-Chamberlain… pace.

Arsenal’s Premier League title ambitions look like they are about to receive a huge boost with reports that Barcelona and Chile attacker Alexis Sanchez is poised to join the club.

Alexis was one of Chile’s key men in Brazil and was particularly impressive in La Roja’s 2-0 win against Spain. It is believed that Barca’s new coach Luis Enrique has informed the pacy striker that he surplus to requirements at the Nou Camp and is allowed to leave.

The Chilean joined Barca for €26m from Udinese in 2011 but was unable to permanently nail down a starting place. Spanish journalist Guillem Balague has confirmed that the 25 year old favours a move to the Emirates over any other side.

The reported fee is said to be around £30m and Barca will probably have a large part of this earmarked for their main summer target, Luis Suarez.

JOE are big fans of Alexis and we think he would be a great addition for Wenger, however, it looks like Arsenal’s squad is in need of strengthening elsewhere first. What do you think?
