Best returns as Schmidt brings back the big guns for the Wallabies

It was good enough for South Africa and fingers crossed this XV will be good enough for Australia too.

It was good enough for South Africa and fingers crossed this XV will be good enough for Australia too.

There are only two changes from the side that enjoyed an excellent victory over the Springboks, with experienced duo Rory Best replacing Sean Cronin and Jared Payne in the front row and the centre respectively.

Best’s return to the side had been expected, while D’Arcy will partner Robbie Henshaw in midfield in the absence of Ulster all-rounder Payne, who failed to recover from a foot injury suffered on his test debut against South Africa.

Apart from that it’s as you were against Michael Cheika’s side (check out the Australia team here) and if the display of two weeks ago can be replicated then there’s every chance there’ll be a lot of smiley faces at the Aviva come Saturday evening.

Ireland team to play Australia: Kearney; Bowe, Henshaw, D’Arcy, Zebo; Sexton, Murray; McGrath, Best, Ross; Toner, O’Connell; O’Mahony, Ruddock, Heaslip.

Replacements: Kilcoyne, Cronin, Ah You, Foley, O’Donnell, Reddan, Madigan, Jones
