Nothing that a little bit of sand can’t fix…

In case you didn’t hear, the fiercely anticipated Dublin derby between Bohemians and Shamrock Rovers was postponed last night after referee Tomas Connolly deemed that the penalty spot in Dalymount was unplayable.

The Gypsies were expecting close to a capacity crowd of 3,500 for the meeting with their old rivals but Connolly made the decision to call off the game just 45 minutes before kick-off.

This is what the penalty spot looked like.

Both Bohemians manager Owen Heary and his Shamrock Rovers counterpart Pat Fenlon felt the match was okay to go ahead, a view that was shared by the players, but Connolly stood by his decision.

After hearing that the game was called off, Bohs decided to have a training session on the pitch while some journalists were watching on.

It seems that former Man City winger Moore is as sharp off the pitch as he is on it.
