Brendan Rodgers and James Milner have had a rather candid exchange on Twitter ahead of Liverpool's opening game
Great characters.
Brendan Rodgers has set out his ambitious plan to win the Premier League by Christmas on Twitter today, and it all starts at The Britannia Stadium this afternoon.
His new vice-captain James Milner then stepped in, level-headed as ever, to remind his manager that Liverpool might be better taking a 'slow-and-steady wins the race approach' that some might call, well, boring.
Check it out.
Hi @Boringmilner I hope you're ready to make your Liverpool debut. Today marks the start of our 38 game winning streak.

.@BoringMilner You're right, James. Although we need to be beating teams like Stoke if we want to win the league by Christmas this season.

.@DeludedBrendan But didn't Stoke beat us 6-1 last season?

.@DeludedBrendan Oh.

Rodgers will be hoping that the Reds show enough character to avoid a repeat of the 6-1 trouncing they suffered on the final day of last season.
