We feel bad for Dortmund’s supporters.
They went through this much effort, yet their side still lost 3-0 to a merciless Juventus side.
This banner at the Westfalenstadion was to commemorate Dortmund’s 1997 Champions League success against Juventus.
And what a banner it was.
It must have taken skill, guile and energy to create this… unfortunately that’s exactly what the German team were lacking on the pitch.
Let’s hope they continue their resurgence in domestic competition and return to European football next season, as it would be a real shame to miss out on this sort of fanfare.
