Conor McGregor has spoken out about last night’s chaotic press conference

It descended into chaos…

The UFC 202 press conference was wild last night and no doubt added a few thousand extra buys for the Pay-per-view at the weekend as Nate Diaz went full Stockton on McGregor and all hell broke loose.

Bottles of water and cans of energy drink were flung by McGregor and Diaz threw his shoe and bottles in what was a truly bizarre scene.

McGregor brushed off the incident afterwards in an interview with Sports Centre.

“I see it as handbags,” McGregor said. “They walked out shouting, talking. But what was it? We’re here ready to fight. We’re ready for war. So, let’s bring it.”

This is the second time that pressers between McGregor and Diaz have ended in a skirmish with McGregor famously striking Diaz in the build up to their last fight.

“I just saw bottles being thrown. I was like, alright, f*ck that, you want to try throwing bottles? I’ll throw cans,” McGregor explained to the LA Times, before adding sarcastically. “But it was all in self-defense. I was scared for my life.”

The whole press conference can be watched online or you can check out the highlights, including the skirmish, here.

In the UFC embedded series, McGregor can be seen struggling to return to the stage to finish the press conference.
