Dana White reveals Conor McGregor will have a huge left field announcement after UFC 205

Building hype nicely…

It’s just over six weeks away until UFC 205 and the absolutely stacked card for all MMA fans to enjoy.

Obviously the main attraction on the card is the Conor McGregor match-up with Eddie Alvarez for the lightweight title but there’s a host of other fights on the card worth absorbing.

There’s two additional title fights as Tyron Woodley takes on Stephen ‘Wonderboy’ Thompson for the welterweight title and Joanna Jędrzejczyk faces Karolina Kowalkiewicz for the women’s strawweight belt.

Not to mention Chris Weidman’s match up with Yoel Romero, providing that both fighters remain fit and healthy.

The event is captivating enough when just taking into account the fights, but Dana White has now added another layer of intrigue into the mix with his comments about Conor McGregor.

The decision to allow McGregor to face Eddie Alvarez has been criticised by some of the purists of the sport. They wanted to see McGregor face Jose Aldo at featherweight and Alvarez face Khabib Nurmagomedov.

Dana White wanted these fights as well and speaking on the WFANsOutsideTheCage Podcast, he revealed that there were other forces at work.

“Listen, I battled this thing forever. Not only is it not fair to Jose Aldo, it’s not fair to Khabib and Max Holloway. So believe me, I battled with this thing but there are… how can I say this? There are other circumstances involved in this that will be played out after the fight.

“It’s something completely out of left field but it’s Conor’s business. It’s not mine, and I’ll let Conor announce it when he’s ready to.”

This sounds like it could be huge, could it be a fight with Georges St-Pierre (if he returns), or could it be a contest with this man?
