One of many Irish players that gave it their all.
Irish goalkeeper Darren Randolph was magnificent in the 2-1 defeat to France but despite his heroics, Antoine Griezmann’s brace was enough for France to secure their spot in the quarter-final.
Shane Duffy’s sending off made Ireland’s task infinitely harder and with space opening up, the West Ham ‘keeper was forced into making a string of fine saves.
Like every single Irish player, the 29-year-old goalkeeper was an emotional wreck after the full-time whistle as his teammate Payet consoled him.

When Ireland set off on their Euro 2016 adventure – all the way back in September 2014 against Georgia in Tiblisi – David Forde wore the #1 jersey but injuries and form permitting, it’s clear who will be in the Irish goal when the boys in green embark on their bid to reach Russia 2018.
Randolph has earned plenty of plaudits following an extremely good performance in Lyon.

CHANCE! Payet puts Griezmann one-on-one but Randolph makes a fine save to deny him a hat-trick. #EURO2016 #FRAIRL
