It’s not often that something happens to bring 9000 raucous fans into one voice. But Fabrice Muamba, the Bolton footballer who was effectively brought back from the dead by paramedics last weekend, was the subject of a one such occasion during the first ever McCoy’s Premier League Darts event in Dublin last night.

Muamba’s plight touched millions of sports followers following his collapse during the Tottenham-Bolton FA Cup quarter-final last weekend, which was televised live to a Saturday teatime audience on ITV.

And the darts fans in Dublin last night paid their own special tribute to the 23-year-old midfielder during Dublin’s first McCoy’s Premier League Darts night.

Here’s the video.

The seventh round of the Premier League darts saw wins for Phil Taylor, Raymond van Barneveld and Adrian Lewis, while Simon Whitlock came from behind for a 7-7 draw with Andy Hamilton.

McCoy’s Premier League Darts – 7th round results:

Andy Hamilton 7-7 Simon Whitlock
Adrian Lewis 8-3 Kevin Painter
Raymond van Barneveld 8-5 Gary Anderson
Phil Taylor 8-2 James Wade
