The J-League

There’s no change in the identity of the teams making up the top five since our last update two gameweeks ago, but there has been some shuffling in the pack.

Ogie Nolan’s Tullig Panthers** remain in top spot with a healthy-ish 23 points lead, with Alan Duggan’s Klippity Klopp now leading the charge in second place.

Alan’s charges have 18 points to spare over Brian Haugh’s Hauzinho’s Harriers in third spot, with Michael Walsh’s clipityKlopp a point further back in fourth, three points ahead of Derek Dickenson’s 2 Girls 1 Schlupp in fourth place.

Gameweek 32

In theory, Gameweek 32 should provide the top teams with relatively easy opportunities to grab three points, which in turn, should make it a straightforward weekend for Fantasy Football managers.

As we’ve seen with Bournemouth nicking a point against Liverpool in midweek and Crystal Palace snatching victory against runaway leaders Chelsea last weekend, however, it doesn’t always work like that.

Spurs and Manchester City, for example, should really be taking maximum points from home ties against Watford and Hull respectively, games in which you’d fancy Spurs’ in-form attacking midfielders and City’s Sergio Aguero to prop up their points tallies.

Liverpool’s visit to Stoke looks a little trickier, particularly given the Reds’ injury list, but you’d fancy Chelsea to at least maintain their advantage at the top by beating Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium, especially with Eden Hazard in the form he’s in at the moment.

If they could score a goal, Manchester United could put Sunderland out of their relegation misery at the Stadium of Light on Sunday and increase the pressure on fellow top four challengers Arsenal, who round off the weekend with a visit to Crystal Palace on Monday night.

This week’s tips

Safe bet: Theo Walcott (£7.4 million). We considered Phillipe Coutinho and Christian Eriksen for this category, but Coutinho is a doubt for the Stoke game with illness and we gave Eriksen the nod last week.

In their stead, we’ve gone for Theo Walcott, who, in true Arsenal style, seems to have found form a little later than when it really was required.

Walcott has two goals in his last two games and 16 points to go with it; at that price, he’s very affordable too.

Dark horse: Wilfried Zaha (£5.8 million). He’s still infuriatingly inconsistent, but on his day, Zaha can be devastating and he’s been turning on the style in recent weeks when Palace have needed it.

He’s managed two goals, an assist and 24 points in his last four games and is well worth a look with change to spare from £6 million.

Captain’s choice: Sergio Aguero (£12.7 million). Hull are fighting for their lives and doing a pretty good job of it, but with Harry Maguire missing for the Tigers, we can’t see them keeping City at bay on Saturday afternoon.

Aguero has four goals in his last five leagues games and with Pep Guardiola’s men seeking an instant response from the midweek defeat to Chelsea, the Argentine could do some damage.
