The Leinster man has long been a fan of Iron Mike, and he has stepped up his campaign now that he is in North America.
One of sports longest, and seemingly unrequited, love affairs has stepped up a notch this week. Leinster’s Fergus McFadden has never been afraid to tell the world just how much he loves former world heavyweight champ Mike Tyson.
In a Rugby World interview last year he admitted he wanted Tyson as one of his ultimate dinner guests, though he was careful to add ‘I don’t admire what he has done but he is pretty outrageous’.
Since then the Leinster man has sporadically gotten in touch with Iron Mike on Twitter.
But now that he is in north America with the Irish team, McFadden has upped his campaign.
In the last week, McFadden has sent the boxer three more tweets, culminating in tonight’s effort.
As far as we know, the Hangover star has yet to reply to Fergus but we hope that the Irish international will eventually chip away at him and get the all important meeting with his hero. And we hope Mike is in a good mood when it happens too.
