The Kellogg’s Nutri-Grain Golf Skills Challenge, a competition to find Ireland’s most skilled amateur golfer, is underway with club events taking place up and down the country ahead of the national final in the GUI Academy this September. Five key skills of the game are tested in the Skills Challenge so we thought we’d have a gander at some of the most incredible bits of golf skill pulled off by amateurs.

Golf Trick #1

JOE spent some time caddying as a young whippersnapper and one of the most difficult parts of the job is reading the line of a putt on the green. We wish we had caddied for this guy because he has a very different putting method.

Golf Trick #2

The first thing that came into our mind when we watched this video was “where is the ball?’ but it’s actually in the guy’s mouth. The timing and technique to pull this off is very impressive.

Golf Trick #3

This trick shot would probably get you disqualified from a competition but it would really impress your buddies down the driving range. Brian Cody would be impressed with this lad’s swing.

Golf Trick #4

We here at JOE are bad enough with one golf club in our hands so this trick by Jeremy Dale has blown us away. He’s clearly an excellent golfer but this is pretty ridiculous.

Golf Trick #5

This man makes us feel like an uncoordinated Neanderthal because he mixes golf with the art of juggling. If he doesn’t manage to get his European Tour card, he can always run away with the circus.
